Description
Doctors spend a considerable part of their professional life taking history from
patients. It is thus important for it to be done well. Obtaining a good history
is essential towards arriving at the correct diagnosis but taking a good history
requires a lot of practice: ‘History Taking: Key Role Play for OSCEs’ aims to provide
the student with essential information for taking a concise history. The book, written
by junior doctors and principally intended for medical students, is a series of
role plays presented in a systematic way to consolidate and internalise the student’s
learning process, and practise some common scenarios. Whilst it is important to
read and revise alone, there are many benefits of working with others: Practising
in pairs or groups enhances the communication and inter-personal skills, while also
bringing variety to the student’s revision schedule.
